It is a premier year-round destination, featuring tranquil hill stations like Shimla, adventure spots in Manali, and rich Tibetan, Hindu, and Himachali traditions.
Day 1: Delhi/Chandigarh to Shimla Arrive in Delhi or Chandigarh and drive to Shimla, the "Queen of Hills". Check in to your hotel and spend the evening at leisure on The Mall Road and The Ridge. Day 2: Shimla & Kufri Excursion After breakfast, visit Jakhu Temple (the highest point in Shimla) and then proceed to the scenic hill station of Kufri. Enjoy pony or yak rides and the panoramic Himalayan views. Day 3: Shimla to Manali Drive to Manali (approx. 7-8 hours). The journey offers scenic views of the Kullu Valley and the Beas River. Check in to your hotel and relax for the evening.
Day 4: Manali Local Sightseeing Explore local attractions like the unique wooden Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, Vashisht Hot Water Springs, and the Tibetan Monastery. Day 5: Solang Valley / Rohtang Pass Take a full-day excursion to Solang Valley, known for adventure activities like paragliding, zorbing, and skiing (seasonal). Alternatively, visit Rohtang Pass (if open and at an additional cost) to experience majestic snow-capped peaks. Day 6: Manali to Dharamshala After breakfast, drive to Dharamshala (approx. 6-7 hours). En route, you can stop at the Palampur tea gardens. Check in to your hotel in Dharamshala/McLeodganj.
Day 7: Dharamshala Sightseeing Explore the local area, visiting the residence of the Dalai Lama at McLeodganj, Bhagsunath Temple and Waterfall, and Dal Lake. Day 8: Dharamshala to Dalhousie Drive to Dalhousie (approx. 4 hours), a serene hill station known for its colonial architecture and views of the Dhauladhar range. Spend the evening exploring local markets or walking trails. Day 9: Dalhousie & Khajjiar Excursion Take a trip to Khajjiar, often called the "Mini Switzerland of India", known for its picturesque meadow and lake. Return to Dalhousie for the evening. Day 10: Dalhousie to Amritsar/Chandigarh Departure After breakfast, drive to Amritsar (approx. 4-5 hours) to visit the Golden Temple and the Wagah Border (if time permits) before departing from Amritsar Airport/Railway Station. Alternatively, drive back to Chandigarh for your onward journey.
