Kashmir, renowned as "Paradise on Earth," is a breathtaking region in the Himalayas known for its stunning natural beauty, including snow-capped mountains, lush green valleys like Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and serene water bodies like Dal Lake. It offers a blend of rich culture, welcoming hospitality, historic Mughal gardens, and adventurous experiences.
Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar & Dal Lake Experience. Arrive at Srinagar Airport, check into a hotel or houseboat, and relax. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride on the iconic Dal Lake and explore the floating gardens and markets. Walk along the scenic Boulevard Road. Day 2: Srinagar Local Sightseeing. After breakfast, visit the renowned Mughal Gardens (Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chashme Shahi) located on the banks of Dal Lake. Also, visit the historic Shankaracharya Temple atop a hill for panoramic city views and the Hazratbal Shrine. Day 3: Day Trip to Sonmarg. Drive to Sonmarg ("Meadow of Gold"). Enjoy the scenic three-hour drive along the Sindh River. Upon arrival, you can take a pony ride to the Thajiwas Glacier for stunning snow views (at your own cost). Return to your hotel in Srinagar by evening.
Day 4: Travel to Gulmarg. Check out from Srinagar and drive to Gulmarg ("Meadow of Flowers"), a popular skiing destination in winter and home to one of the world's highest golf courses. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure or exploring the local area, such as St. Mary's Church. Day 5: Gulmarg Gondola Ride & Exploration. After breakfast, experience the Gulmarg Gondola cable car ride, one of the highest in the world, which takes you to Kongdoori Mountain and optionally to the Apharwat Peak. Enjoy snow activities or trekking depending on the season. Day 6: Travel to Pahalgam. Drive to Pahalgam ("Valley of Shepherds"). En route, stop at the saffron fields in Pampore and the ancient Awantipora temple ruins. Check into your hotel and enjoy a leisurely walk along the Lidder River.
Day 7: Pahalgam Valley Excursions. Explore the picturesque valleys of Pahalgam. Hire a local cab to visit Betaab Valley (named after a Bollywood movie filmed here), Aru Valley, and Chandanwari (the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage). Alternatively, enjoy a pony ride to the scenic Baisaran Valley, often called "Mini Switzerland". Day 8: Day Trip to Doodhpathri & Return to Srinagar. Check out from Pahalgam and drive to Doodhpathri, known as the "Valley of Milk" for its white, flowing Shaliganga River and lush green meadows. Return to a houseboat in Srinagar in the evening for your final night's stay. Day 9: Departure from Srinagar. After breakfast, check out from your houseboat/hotel and proceed to the Srinagar Airport for your onward journey, concluding your Kashmir tour.
